Professor Union has presented a well researched view of the development of the black church in America. To ask the question "Is the Church the Church?" takes courage and to trust God in the development of God’s church- also takes an inordinate amount of strength and faith. This book should be read by every serious clergy member and community leader. It puts forth some principle's that could be utilized in serving the marginalized in the U S and abroad.
